Ministry Talks

Dear Member / Friend of First Lutheran,

Attached below is a booklet that we would like you to read. It concerns the mission and ministry of First Lutheran now and in the future. We used this booklet at our recent ministry talks (held in April and May of 2010) to lead a discussion about some of the challenges and some proposed solutions that your pastors have thought and prayed about and present to you for your consideration. We desire your feedback.

One of the solutions involves each of us taking a closer look at our giving and determining if we give a thoughtful amount or perhaps too haphazardly. As your pastors, we would encourage first-fruits, thoughtful, percentage-based giving, rather than giving leftovers or coming to the end of the year and not knowing how much we gave. To this end, we have included a pledge form that we are asking everyone to fill out. This is anonymous, so do not write your name, but please do fill it out and submit it to the church in the offering plate during the month of May.

We also have begun Joyful Response, an optional way of giving your offerings electronically, in which you set the interval, amount, etc. and then funds are automatically transferred accordingly. This program will help reduce monthly bank service charges and promotes good stewardship in several ways. Please take a look at the enclosed information about Joyful Response and if you are inclined to enroll, please fill out the enclosed form.

Again, we invite your feedback about any and all that this book includes. Thank you for your membership at First Lutheran and we look forward to meeting some or all of the challenges together as God's people gathered here. Most importantly, please continue to pray and thank and praise God, the giver of the perfect gift, His very Son our Savior, Jesus Christ. He will guide and provide for us our whole life-this is true.

The LORD be with you,

Pastors Bushur and Roberts
along with the Elders of First Lutheran
