Education at First Lutheran
In addition to education in our
Christian Day School, First
Lutheran offers numerous opportunities to study the Word of God and growth in
the faith to people of all ages. If you are a young adult or college
student Pastor Roberts leads a group called Pairs and Spares that have various
Christian centered activities. LEGS and LWML offers an outlet to women of
all ages to be involved in mission oriented projects. 55 Alive is an
organization for those 55 years of age and older to come together monthly in
Bible study and fellowship. Covenant Group is a small Bible study group
meeting weekly on Wednesdays. Pastor Bushur offers an interesting Bible
study class each Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. The men of the church meet
monthly for a Bible study and fellowship session. The youth of the church
are active participants in weekly Sunday School Class by age group on Sundays at
9:00 a.m. Confirmation Class is offered for youth both in the official Christian
Day School setting and in preparation of confirmation into the faith for 7th.
and 8th. grade students. Additionally confirmation and new members classes
are available on an as needed basis thought out the church year. For
students attending the University of Tennessee we sponsor Lutheran Campus Ministry. The
ministry of music offer both vocal and handbell choir programs that lead in
worship each Sunday Worship Services.
